After receiving a degree in Park Administration from Texas Tech, Larry began his carrier with the Dallas Park Department, working as district foreman in the northwest district, including Love Field. He was promoted to the position of Southeast District Supervisor of Parks where he supervised over 70 employees, managing all medians in southeast Dallas and twenty-eight parks, including the display gardens at Samuel Grand Park, with more than 6,000 rose bushes.
In October 1974, Larry moved to Northern California and was employed by the Vaughan Seed Company, where he sold bulbs, flower seed and young plants to wholesale nursery companies. The following year he founded Paulger’s Plants & Bulbs, serving landscapers and garden professionals throughout the western United States for 40 years.
Today, when Larry is not visiting clients, he enjoys traveling the world discovering new plants. He actively practices yoga, and participates in meditation retreats at Spirit Rock in Woodacre, CA. He is also a part of the San Francisco Argentine Tango community, dancing frequently throughout the Bay Area and beyond.
